Create and connect to a database

Add PostgreSQL or MySQL to a project and connect your apps to it.

  1. In a project, click Add service and choose PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  2. Pick a version and a storage size, then create it.

The database card's Overview shows its connection details: host, port, database name, user and password. Apps on the same server connect with these directly.

To pass them to an app, open the app's Environment vars and use Copy credentials from DB (see Environment variables).

Users and databases

From the database's card you can add more databases and users, and reset the password. After a reset, update the apps that use the old one.
