Stop, start and restart a service

Stop a service without losing it, and bring it back with the same settings.

  • Restart starts the service again with the same code and settings. Use it after a change outside wdot, or when an app is stuck.
  • Stop takes the service offline. Its code, settings, domains and data are kept; it just does not run, so it uses no CPU or memory.
  • Start brings a stopped service back with the number of replicas it had.

All three are in the service card's ⋯ menu. Deleting a service is there too; that one cannot be undone.
