Logs and terminal

Read what your app prints, and open a shell inside it.

Logs

The Logs tab shows what your app writes to its output. Use it to see errors at start-up or while serving requests. For PostgreSQL databases, the Logs tab shows the database server's own log files.

Terminal

The Terminal tab opens a shell inside your running app, in the browser. It is useful for one-off commands such as running a migration. The terminal has a light and a dark theme; the switch is in its toolbar.

Note: changes you make to files from the terminal are lost on the next deploy or restart. Keep data that must last on a volume.
